McDougle Technical Institute is aware that many students are struggling financially as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. We are proud to announce the establishment of a COVID-19 Student Emergency Financial Aid Grant (CARES Act) designed to help students who find themselves financially impacted. This grant, funded by the CARES Act, will be awarded to help students having a temporary financial crisis resulting from COVID-19 so that they may remain enrolled at McDougle Technical Institute, continue their education and work toward graduation.
McDougle Technical Institute will distribute $250.00 emergency financial aid grants to all eligible students who were actively enrolled on May 1, 2020. Students who are still attending classes or enrolled after May 1, 2020 may apply for the emergency need-based grant. The maximum amount of the emergency need-based grant shall not exceed $1,500.00, to be disbursed in $250.00 monthly payments while the student is actively enrolled and eligible.
In order for a student to be considered for a need-based grant, students must

2. Be an actively enrolled eligible student
3. Demonstrate that they have incurred expenses related to the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus.
4. Have an unmet financial need.

The committee will consider the information to be provided on the student’s grant application as well as information already on record with the Institute such as the student’s dependency status, family size, expected family contribution, unmet financial need, program length, satisfactory academic progress, attendance, and expected completion date.
Students receiving grant money will have the funds mailed to their current address or they can pick them up at the campus.
We look forward to receiving your applications and being able to help our students continue to persevere during these challenging times to achieve their educational goals.
