Chaz Russell Named Head Coach for McDougle Technical Institute Prep PompanoFormer MTI Prep Head Coach Arturo Freeman to Serve as Athletic Director

(Pompano Beach, FL) The McDougle Technical Institute Prep founders Stockar and
Octavia McDougle are proud to announce the promotions of Chaz Russell and Arturo
Freeman. Chaz Russell will serve as the MTI Prep Bison’s new Head Coach and former
Head Coach Arturo Freeman will assume the role of Athletic Director. The McDougle’s
founded MTI Prep in 2019.
“We are so excited to promote Coach Russell to Head Coach and Arturo to Athletic
Director. We want to offer our students the best academic and athletic program and make
an impact in their futures. Not only is MTI Prep a great opportunity for our student
athletes, we also want our coaches to have the opportunity to advance in their coaching
careers,” said MTI Prep co-founder Stockar McDougle.    “As we enter our 4 th year of our
prep football program we are proud of the impact we have made with our athletes and
coaches. We pride ourselves in developing head coaches to move up and have
opportunities,” added McDougle.
Russell a native of Fort Lauderdale was with the Bison during the 2021 season and
served as the Quarterbacks Coach and Assistant Offensive Coordinator for the MTI Prep
Team. He was on the coaching staff of the 2021 conference championship team. Prior to
joining the Bison, Russell coached the Quarterbacks at Stranahan High School and has
been heavily involved in youth sports as a Head Coach for the Plantation Wildcats.
“Being named Head Coach means everything to me. This is my dream job and I am very
excited to help as many student athletes as I can. I am looking forward to helping grow
the school and the Bison Prep football program. I love that MTI Prep also offers students
the opportunity to get an education for a trade while playing football,” said MTI Prep
Pompano Head Coach Chaz Russell.  “ I want to thank God and Stockar and Octavia
McDougle for giving me the opportunity and believing in me. It means the world to me
that they choose me for this position. I also want to thank MTI Junior College Head Coach
Norm Richards, Arturo Freeman, the entire staff at MTI and my parents, brother Jamaal
Russell and supportive family,” added Russell.
 
MTI Prep is currently enrolling student athletes for the spring and fall football programs.  
MTI Preparatory (MTI Prep) is a post-graduate athletic program that is committed to
helping student-athletes with career and college preparation. The athletic program
offered at MTI is a six to ten-month program. Student-athletes engage in a rigorous sports

program to work on improving strength and conditioning levels, playing ability, time
management, accountability, confidence, maturity and leadership. The athletic teams
compete against NAIA and Division III Junior Varsity Collegiate teams, Junior College Prep
teams and Clubs teams to showcase the student’s talent for exposure in order to gain
advancement and scholarships to college.  In addition to career training, the program
offers academic and GPA credit recovery.   
 
MTI Prep is located in Pompano Beach and Gainesville.  MTI Prep Pompano is located
at 1955 N Federal Hwy #207 in Pompano Beach at the Pompano Citi Centre. MTI Prep
offers student housing, food service, athletics, and a campus life experience for student’s
ages 16 to 26.    MTI Prep is the only Post Grad Prep School that focuses on college and
