McDougle Technical Institute’s Junior College Student Athlete Signs Division I Scholarship

Issac Tavo is MTI’s first student to receive a Division I Scholarship

(Pompano Beach, FL) McDougle Technical Institute’s Juco Football program is pleased to announce that student athlete Issac Tavo signed a Division I Scholarship to Norfolk State University.  Tavo is the first MTI Juco student to have the opportunity to sign a Division I Scholarship.  Tavo played offensive line for MTI Juco since 2021. He is originally from Land O’Lakes, Florida.  

“I loved playing Juco Football in South Florida.  It is close to home.  MTI Juco helped me prepare for the next level by good weight training, getting my body right and getting my GPA up,” said offensive tackle Issac Tavo.  “My advice is to trust the process and do what you can to make it to the next level” added Tavo.  He looks forward to playing for Norfolk State University in Virginia. 

“We are so proud of Issac for this opportunity. He put in hard work both on and off the field and in the classroom to get him to the next level of signing a full scholarship to Norfolk State University, a Division I University,” said MTI Juco Head Coach Norm Richards. 

NFL Legend and South Florida native Stockar McDougle and his wife Octavia McDougle added the Junior College to their program offerings at MTI in 2021.  The Bison kicked off their inaugural season in 2021.
