MCDOUGLE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE PREPARATORY HOLDING TRYOUTS FOR FOOTBALL PROGRAM Open to Unsigned High School Seniors

(Gainesville, FL) McDougle Technical Institute Preparatory is hosting tryouts for their football program on Saturday, May 15 from 9 am to 12:00 pm at Duval Elementary School (2106 NE 8th Ave).  Unsigned high school seniors interested in trying out for the Bison’s football team can register by emailing Coach Chris Morant at [email protected].  The athletes will go through a series of training and agility drills for a spot on the football team.  There is no charge for the tryouts.

MTI Prep Gainesville Bison is led by Head Coach Chris Morant.  Morant brings over 21 years of football experience with most recently serving as the assistant defensive coordinator at MTI Prep in Pompano Beach.  “I’m excited to provide an opportunity to perspective student-athletes searching for the chance to play the game at the next level,” said Chris Morant MTI Prep Head Coach.  

MTI Prep is currently enrolling student athletes for their spring and fall football programs.  They will also be working towards getting their Barber license at MTI while playing football.   NFL Legend and South Florida native Stockar McDougle and his wife Octavia McDougle launched McDougle Technical Institute Preparatory (MTI Prep) in 2019 in Pompano Beach and expanded the program to Gainesville in April.

Students from all over Florida and additional states can enroll at MTI Prep.   Student Athletes will be participating in training workouts in addition to the Barber program online classes and hands on learning following CDC guidelines.  

MTI Preparatory (MTI Prep) is Florida Private School and a post-graduate academic and athletic program that is committed to helping student-athletes with career and college preparation. The athletic program offered at MTI is a six to ten-month program. Student-athletes engage in a rigorous sports program to work on improving strength and conditioning levels, playing ability, time management, accountability, confidence, maturity and leadership. The athletic teams compete against NAIA and Division III Junior Varsity Collegiate teams, Junior College Prep teams and Clubs teams to showcase the student’s talent for exposure in order to gain advancement and scholarships to college.
