MCDOUGLE TECHNICAL INSTITUTE TEAMS UP WITH EMERALD MEDICAL TO PROVIDE PRIMARY HEALTH CARE TO STUDENTS, PREP FOOTBALL TEAM AND STAFF

(Pompano Beach, FL) To ensure a safe environment for all of their students and staff, MTI founders Stockar and Octavia McDougle have partnered with Emerald Medical to provide primary care with a comprehensive approach to prevent injury and illness.

Emerald Medical Doctor Edil Agosto and Physician Assistant Kris Hasenauer oversee and manage the medical support program for MTI.  They have structured the organization to make full use of EMTs, Paramedics, Physician Assistants and a Physician to provide exceptional care at all levels. “We accomplish this by implementing the most current evidence-based protocols and best practices,” added Hawkins.  

With the heightened concerns surrounding the effects of the Covid-19 virus, Emerald Medical has assisted the MTI staff in creating an effective, continuous monitoring process for students.  This process incorporates the CDC guidelines for identifying signs and symptoms associated with the virus as well as testing and isolation procedures when appropriate. A crucial part preventing the virus includes educating the students about the signs and symptoms and have dedicated healthcare providers readily available for professional diagnosis and recommendations.  Emerald Medical also addresses injury prevention through education and monitoring during practice sessions for concerns such as heat exhaustion, dehydration, and physical injuries associated with demanding contact sports.  Emerald Medical is owned and operated by U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Beret) Veterans. 

MTI students are currently taking classes online, staggering hands on learning times at the school and the football team is participating in training workouts following CDC guidelines.
